Sense about Science
I stumbled across this informative website called Sense about Science. It’s a website set up by scientists who talk in plain English and help bridge the disconnect between ‘complicated’ science, and you and I going about our daily lives. I was particularly interested in a briefing document entitled Sense about science – making sense of chemical stories – A briefing for the lifestyle sector on misconceptions about chemicals. It’s not particularly about pesticides, but I think the approach and content gives a good perspective. It has been prepared for journalists and life-style commentators who write about chemicals in relation to our daily environment.

Interesting indeed, like their campaign for a better awareness of peer review among the public. However, it appears that “Sense about science” is a front organization and I would be wary of praising its work too much and cultivating tight links with these people : http://journalology.blogspot.com/2007/03/scientists-or-living-marxists.html
P.S : A prerequisite of almost any blog is the fact that the reader knows who is speaking, and from where, especially when he/she uses “I”. Unless I’m mistaken, it is not the case here. We only know that the ECPA is behind it but is the blogger in charge of PR? A scientist? A regulatory specialist? A trainee?
